Gold Standard Methodologies
All methodologies approved by the CDM Executive Board that meet GS scope and specific elegibility criteria are accepted by the Gold Standard for both GS-CER and GS-VER projects. For a complete list of approved CDM methodologies, see:
In addition, the Gold Standard Foundation has approved the following methodologies for use in VER projects:
Thermal energy from plant oil for the use of cooking stoves
Energy Efficient Cooking Stoves
Energy Efficient Cooking Stoves – V.02 (8 Feb 2010)
Biodiesel from Waste Oil/Fat (Revised AM0047)
The following GS VER methodologies are currently under development:
- Revised Methodology for Large Scale Supply and Distribution of Efficient Light Bulb and Showerhead Products to Households
Sectoral Scopes for Gold Standard VER methodologies:
The table below clarifies the scopes associated with the various Gold Standard methodologies and thus defines what DOEs are eligible to validate/verify any Gold Standard project activity making use of these respective methodologies.
The definition of the scopes refers to the 15 CDM sectoral scopes available at:
cdm.unfccc.int/DOE/scopelst.pdf
In order to ensure the selection of DOEs with appropriate expertise for the validation and verification of a given Gold Standard project activity, the contracted DOE is required to have secured accreditation by the CDM EB for the relevant scopes.
